TOMMY HILFINGER

NY tommy hilfiger

It took place in the birthplace of punk rock, Camden, where you can still find blue Mohawks and plenty of charcoaled eyes and black nails on the streets 😉!!! Iconic American designer, Tommy Hilfiger, stepped across the pond for the first time to pay homage to his friend Mick Jagger and British rock n' roll by presenting a see-now/buy-now collection for London Fashion Week. Not just a show, but an entertainment extravaganza - the evening was held in the famed Round House music venue and featured fashion, celebrity, merchandise to buy, acrobatics, and even a performance by the Chainsmokers. Lots of sibs were there too walking the runway, to include Gigi, her sister Bella, and brother Anwar plus sisters Jagger, Georgia-May, and Lizzie. All the London cool girls rocked the rubberized inky matte mani in Vinylux Black Pool with a top layer of RidgeFX that gave the nails their unique finish (you can also get this look with our new Shellac Matte Top Coat over your favorite dark shade!). Punk black nails…an appropriate exclamation point to a rebellious fashion week.

GURETH PUGH

NY garth pugh

The debut of the Gareth Pugh film took place in the largest IMAX screen in all of Europe, in the heart of London. No runway or models and no clothing, only the soul of a visionary designer making a statement about his art. Gareth stripped down naked before his friends and family to bring forward the concept of denude, or a spirit of evocation, a most primal creative instinct and 'the very dearest thing that life can offer'. This for Gareth is working with trusted collaborators to bring a dream film to life. We at CND were proud to be among these partners by punctuating the dramatic finale and ascension of the story with luminous, flickering flame-like nails beaming like bright red lasers from fingertips. As the flame of the story grew stronger, flashes of strong metallic gold talons lifted the love and admiration in the room for the gift of a story beautifully told.

MOSCHINO

NY moschino

It is girl-gone-bad at Moschino for SS18, complete with all the rebellious elements we know and love in fashion… leather, tulle, ruffles, and hardware galore. Nails were as sexy as your favorite fishnet stockings, but the longer length and almond shape made them hardcore tough chick and were the right accessory to balance out the extreme silhouettes of the clothing. The skin-tone-matched nudes sleekly elongate the illusion of the fingers and provide a canvas for the crisply printed fishnet pattern using new Creative Play Gel Polish in "Black and Forth", a striking jet black. Call this nail look your everyday staple and today's new neutral for Spring Summer 2018, and live in them every day this season, just like your favorite rock n' roll t-shirt!

 PUCCI

NY pucci

Pucci has gone all crazy romantic on us. Always chic and sophisticated but now by the pool, with exotic cocktail in hand, and lover in tow. The clothes are as sexy and elongated as the perfectly nude nails, swept with an artistic brush stroke of electric pastel color, as seductive as a sunset in St. Tropez, Ibiza, Monaco, or Miami. Skinny almonds are lean and sexy like a bronzed leg peeking out of Pucci-printed silk chiffon caftan. Fall in love with the romance of the Chic Shock Collection by CND…Pucci style!

 BYBLOS

NY byblos

I have always loved BYBLOS. I'll never forget buying my first Byblos suit in the 1980's during my first business trip to Italy. I was romanced by the allure of their sharp silhouettes, precision tailoring and exquisite fabrics. Today, they have continued their dedication to quality with innovative patterns and fabric techniques, super light knitwear, and the electric colors that have become their creative signature. It is fitting that our partnership was born out of a mutual understanding of form and color. Sharp shoulders demand a sharp nail shape. Yes! Dramatic details require an intricate nail design. Of course! If the statement is prints and patterns, they must continue all the way to the finger tips. Check! Nine unique, intricately hand painted, precise and detailed nail designs… Byblos + CND = a match made in heaven!
